The Industrial Development Authority of the County of La Paz
Is a non-profit subdivision of La Paz County that was formed in 1983. The IDA is run by a volunteer board of seven La Paz County Citizens who are appointed to six-year terms by the La Paz County Board of Supervisors. The IDA is permitted by state and federal law to facilitate bond acquisition projects, serving as a "middle-man" in these projects. The IDA is paid an application fee for that facilitation, as well as an annual negotiable fee for up to the length of the bond terms. The funds received by the IDA may then be used to "benefit the people of La Paz County" according to state law. The funds may be awarded as grants or matching grants to non-profit organizations and government entities in La Paz County. The focus of the funding is on community and economic development.
